Shared Reading Group
“A short story is the ultimate close-up magic trick – a couple of thousand words to take you around the universe or break your heart”.
Yesterday on Thursday August 4 we had the first meeting of the Shared Reading group. Together with 10 participants we read aloud “Trees can speak” by Alan Marshall, a beautiful short story about silence, bush and friendship, and “Miracle on St David’s Day” by Gillian Clarke, a poem about the lingering power of words and art.
The group meets every week on Thursdays at 3pm. Anybody can participate in a shared reading group regardless of language skills or reading ability. We welcome everyone to join us over a cup of tea, to read, discuss, or simply listen and enjoy a fun afternoon together.
