Surry Hills Christmas Market 2015
The last Surry Hills Market of 2015 took place on a sunny warm Saturday December 5.
As always, it was filled with the stalls full of beautiful vintage clothes and accessories, rare books and records, tableware and furniture, designer jewellery, hand-crafted candles and many other beautiful things.
At this market we also celebrated the World’s AIDS Day. The Surry Hills Community Drug Action Team (CDAT) held a stall and gave out information about this event. A local band Silverbeats, who have been regular market guests in 2015, played ukuleles and brought a relaxing village-fair feel to the day.
The highlight of the day was a doggy show. We love having four-legged locals and their owners at the market, and as a special treat for all market visitors – and, to be honest, for ourselves too – we invited all the pooches to come in dressed up. The local dog care business Dogs@Play, our good friends and festival sponsors, provided treats for the contestants, and it seemed that all the furry santas, rudolphs and elves enjoyed themselves.
Well, almost all – can’t please everyone. It’s Surry Hills, after all
Our Centre farewelled 2015 with this Market, and we all are now looking forward to the holidays. If you have not yet decided how to spend the Christmas Day, have a look at this list of events that will be happening around the city – Christmas Meals and Events.
We wish everybody happy holidays and hope that the new year will be a good one!
