Surry Hills Christmas Market 2015
The last Surry Hills Market of 2015 took place on a sunny warm Saturday December 5.
As always, it was filled with the stalls full of beautiful vintage clothes and accessories, rare books and records, tableware and furniture, designer jewellery, hand-crafted candles and many other beautiful things.
At this market we also celebrated the World’s AIDS Day. The Surry Hills Community Drug Action Team (CDAT) held a stall and gave out information about this event. A local band Silverbeats, who have been regular market guests in 2015, played ukuleles and brought a relaxing village-fair feel to the day.
The highlight of the day was a doggy show. We love having four-legged locals and their owners at the market, and as a special treat for all market visitors – and, to be honest, for ourselves too 🙂 – we invited all the pooches to come in dressed up. The local dog care business Dogs@Play, our good friends and festival sponsors, provided treats for the contestants, and it seemed that all the furry santas, rudolphs and elves enjoyed themselves.
Well, almost all – can’t please everyone. It’s Surry Hills, after all 🙂
Our Centre farewelled 2015 with this Market, and we all are now looking forward to the holidays. If you have not yet decided how to spend the Christmas Day, have a look at this list of events that will be happening around the city – Christmas Meals and Events.
We wish everybody happy holidays and hope that the new year will be a good one!
