Our purpose is to build a strong and inclusive community in Surry Hills – it has been since 1978. Our dedicated team is here to provide a safe, healthy and caring environment where people can connect, access support, learn new things, and give to others. Everything we do is driven by respect and social justice and is a celebration of equality and diversity.
BECOME A MEMBER
Anyone is welcome to become a member, but we are especially keen for those who live or work in the Surry Hills community to join us. The joining fee is $2, and there is an annual membership renewal fee of $1. All you need to do is fill in a Membership Application.
It’s a wonderful way to contribute to your community and have your say on any issues that matter most to you.
GOVERNANCE COMMITTEE
If you would like to contribute your skills and time to the management and strategic planning of the SHNC, you may be interested in joining our Governance Committee. The GV meets once per month, but members will need to be available to do some work outside of these meetings. More information can be found here.
BECOME A VOLUNTEER
To become a volunteer, all you need to do is fill in a Volunteer Registration Form.
Be sure to tell us what sort of work you would like to do for us so we can place you in a volunteer role that you enjoy! If you are interested in volunteering, we encourage you to become a member first.
